Getting Started

What is ChefBoard?
ChefBoard is a social-first food app that blends discovery (like a feed of recipes and creators) with powerful tools for meal planning, macro tracking, and shopping lists.
Is ChefBoard free?
Yes—our core features are free during MVP+. We may introduce optional paid upgrades later, but we’ll always have a generous free tier.
Which platforms are supported?
Web is available now. Mobile apps (iOS/Android) are planned after MVP+.

Account & Profile

How do I create an account?
Sign up with email or social login from the landing page. You can add a profile photo and bio anytime from Profile → Edit.
I forgot my password—what do I do?
Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. We’ll email you a secure reset link.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Privacy and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and content after a short grace period.

Recipes & Posting

How do I post a recipe?
Use Add Recipe to enter a title, description, ingredients, steps, and photos/video. You can publish publicly or keep it private as a draft.
Can I import recipes from websites or social media?
Yes—paste a link from supported sites or TikTok/Instagram posts. We’ll pull the essentials; you can review and edit before saving.
How do I credit original creators when reposting?
When sharing content you didn’t create, include the original link and tag the creator if possible. Our share flow prompts you to add proper credit.
My recipe photo/video won’t upload—help!
Check your connection and file size/format. Try compressing large videos or converting HEIC to JPEG/PNG. If it persists, contact hello@chefboard.app.

Meal Planning & Macros

How do meal plans work?
Save recipes, then add them to specific days. We’ll total your macros and generate a shopping list from the selected days.
Can I scale servings and see updated macros?
Yes—adjust servings on the recipe or in the meal plan. Macros update automatically.
Do you support dietary preferences or allergies?
You can filter by tags (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free) and mark allergens to reduce exposure in recommendations.

Shopping List

How is the shopping list generated?
It aggregates ingredients from your selected days and merges duplicates (e.g., “2 × 200g chicken breast” → “400g chicken breast”).
Can I edit the shopping list?
Yes—check off items, change quantities, and add custom items. Your edits stay synced with that plan.

Privacy & Safety

Do you sell my data?
No. We don’t sell personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I report content or a user?
Use the ••• menu on any post or profile and select Report. Our team reviews reports and may remove content or restrict accounts per our Terms.
How do I control who sees my posts?
Set visibility during posting (Public, Followers, or Private) or change it later from the post’s ••• menu.

Billing (Future)

Will there be a premium plan?
Possibly in the future. If we launch one, the free tier will remain useful. We’ll announce pricing and features clearly before any changes.
How do I cancel a subscription?
If/when subscriptions launch: go to Settings → Billing and click Cancel. You’ll keep access until the end of the billing period.
